HISTORY OF EMF

EMF 2012 – 21st march and 22nd March 2012

( SRM University, Kattankulathur, Chennai.)

The Department of Mathematics on behalf of Sri Ramanujan Mathematics Club of SRM University hosts every year a festival where students from various institutes in and around Chennai participate in it and win exciting cash prizes. We call it the Engineering Mathematics Festival abbreviated as EMF.This year EMF is scheduled to be conducted on 21st & 22nd march 2012.We have events packed for two full days for you to participate and enjoy the fun filled events.

SRI RAMANUJAN MATHEMATICS CLUB

Due to the keen interest evinced by the engineering students, Sri Ramanujan Mathematics Club was born in 1991 under the aegis of the Department of Mathematics.It is not an exaggeration to note that SRM Engineering College was the First private Engineering College to start such a club to excel innovative skills in Mathematics.Since its inception, the club has been active in promoting Mathematics, as Queen of Science with infiinite capacity, to fascinate all who venture into its bounds.To achieve the objectives, the club organizes every year an intercollegiate Mathematics festival ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL(EMF) in addition to various guest lectures by eminent Mathematicians, Scientists and Engineers and an in-house Mathematics competition INTRA COLLEGIATE MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL (IMF).

All the Technical UNIVERSITY and Engineering college students are being invited to participate in this fest and there has been an overwhelming response every year.

This year also it is proposed to conduct the festival (EMF) on 21st & 22nd March.

There is no formal registration fee.

Crossword Rules:

· A team of minimum 2 and a maximum of 3 members.

· 5 teams get qualified for the Finals.

· This event consists of general and technical rounds.

Dumb-C Rules:

· 3 people per team

· 6 teams would be qualified for the final round

· It consists of both technical and non-technical rounds, the rules of which will be announced on the spot.

· The max of 3 members can be in a team
